An entertaining new video offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Carnival Fascination while it underwent a $34 million refurbishment that added a new water park, 98 balcony staterooms, redesigned main pool area, a Serenity adults-only retreat and a host of cosmetic enhancements throughout the vessel. The 2,052-passenger Carnival Fascination resumes its year-round four- and five-day schedule from Jacksonville, Fla., today following a $34 million dry dock that included the addition of an expansive new water park, exclusive adults-only retreat, redesigned main pool area and 98 balconies to existing staterooms.

Carnival Cruise Lines has shipped more than 2,000 pounds of relief supplies to Haiti to assist those affected by the devastating earthquake in the country earlier this month. Donated by Carnival employees, the supplies include water, blankets, diapers, and protein bars and other non-perishable food items and are being shipped and distributed to Haiti by the University [...]

The retirement of Captain Gianpaolo Casula was marked with a reception at Carnival Cruise Lines’ Miami headquarters. The event, which was attended by dozens of friends and co-workers, served to pay tribute to the captain’s long and distinguished maritime career which spans nearly 50 years, including the past 34 years at Carnival.

Carnival Destiny will undergo a seven-day dry dock next month to resolve a propulsion problem. The issue is only affecting the vessel’s sailing speed and all other systems are operating normally. The dry dock will take place Feb. 13-20.
