The 3,006-passenger Carnival Splendor isn’t just the largest “Fun Ship” ever constructed - it’s a true “floating resort” offering a host of innovative on-board amenities and facilities. Here’s a look at some of the many amazing facts associated with this massive vessel. In the first year of service alone:

Carnival Splendor’s photographers will snap more than 1.5 million digital images and portraits

Guests will devour 200,000 servings of Carnival’s signature dessert, the Chocolate Melting Cake, along with 286,000 pizzas and 120,000 cappuccinos

Carnival Splendor will visit 61 ports of call in 29 countries across three continents

Approximately 22,000 meals will be served in the elegant reservations-only supper club, The Pinnacle

Chefs in the vessel’s galley will use of nearly 18,000 pounds of flour

Nearly 90 metric tons of pineapples will be consumed, mostly in frothy tropical drinks!

If the splendor is half as good as the Freedom it will be fantastic!!Loved the Freedom so much I am going onboard this July again.Cant wait to see the splendor and some old friends from the Freedom (James) will visit soon x x love to all who sail Carnival

I am cruising on the Splendor Thanksgiving week, meeting Empress Bee and Prince Charlie, and will see Nanni in P.R. too. We sailed on the Freedom last Thanksgiving and loved it, hope John Heald is our CD on the Splendor! Also, plan to book the DREAM on July 1st for December 2009. WooHoo! Way to go Carnival-you are the BEST cruise line in the world!

We have not sailed on the Splendor yet but have been on 4 other ships. One thing they all seem to offer is the delicious Chocolate Melting Cake!
