Carnival’s newest and largest ship, the 3,006-passenger Carnival Splendor, arrived in Dover this morning following an eight-day cruise from Genoa.
Following a naming ceremony presided over by the ship’s godmother, British celebrity Myleene Klass, Carnival Splendor will sail on a special three-day cruise to Amsterdam then operate the first of five 12-day Northern Europe cruises from Dover – the line’s first within the region.
Representing a new class of “Fun Ship,” Carnival Splendor offers a variety on-board facilities and features, including a luxurious 21,000-square-foot “Cloud 9 Spa,” a 5,500-square-foot children’s play area and water park, and a magradome covering the main pool and housing the line’s popular Seaside Theatre, a 270-square-foot LED screen.
