Carnival and JAXPORT marked the arrival of the 2,052-passenger Carnival Fascination – the newest and largest cruise ship ever to sail from Jacksonville – with a special VIP event aboard the vessel on Saturday, September 20.
Later that afternoon, the 70,000-ton SuperLiner departed on its inaugural cruise from Jacksonville – a five-day cruise to the Bahamas.
On its new Jacksonville-based schedule, four-day cruises departing Thursdays visit Freeport and Nassau, five-day cruises departing Saturdays call at the private Bahamian island of Half Moon Cay and Nassau, while five-day voyages departing Mondays stop at Key West and Nassau.
The Carnival Fascination will sail on 78 voyages annually from Jacksonville, carrying an estimated 170,000 passengers annually.
