An entertaining new video offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Carnival Fascination while it underwent a $34 million refurbishment that added a new water park, 98 balcony staterooms, redesigned main pool area, a Serenity adults-only retreat and a host of cosmetic enhancements throughout the vessel.  The video can be viewed here

Shot during a 28-day dry dock in Freeport, The Bahamas, the video includes footage of workers installing the new features and renovating existing facilities, along with interviews with Andrew Mace, hotel director of the Carnival Fascination, and Dennis Dearborn, the company’s senior hotel director.

These renovations are part of the line’s $350 million “Evolutions of Fun” refurbishment program for Carnival’s eight 70,000-ton Fantasy-class vessels.  Carnival Fascination is the sixth ship in the series to undergo all phases of the upgrade program.

Carnival Fascination operates Jacksonville’s only year-round cruise schedule, carrying approximately 170,000 passengers a year. On this program, four-day cruises departing Thursdays visit Freeport and Nassau, The Bahamas; five-day cruises departing Mondays call at Key West, Fla., and Nassau; and five-day voyages departing Saturdays visit the private Bahamian island of Half Moon Cay and Nassau.
