The 1,004-foot-long cruise ship is the longest ever built for Miami-based Carnival Cruise Lines and can accommodate 3,646 passengers. Following a series of European cruises, the Dream is to arrive in New York City Nov. 12 for inaugural activities and is to subsequently base from Port Canaveral, Fla., beginning Dec. 3 for year-round, week-long Caribbean cruises.
