Carnival is hosting a fun social media promotion designed to help select a new ice cream flavor served at the Cherry On Top confection store aboard Carnival Vista while benefiting the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the line’s primary charitable partner.
The promotion runs through Friday, June 19, and asks the line’s Facebook fans to “like” their favorite selection among six delicious Carnival-themed choices – Banana Fudge Funnel, Berries Ahoy, Brownie Buoy, Captain Fudge, Co-Co Caribbean and Tropical Sunset Sundae.
Samples of the top three vote-getters will then be delivered to the kids at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., as part of a special ice cream party on July 8 during which the children will select their top frozen treat to be served at the new indoor/outdoor shipboard ice cream venue. Once Carnival Vista enters service, proceeds from each sale of the St. Jude-designated ice cream flavor will benefit the hospital.
The promotion is part of the line’s ongoing partnership with St. Jude. Carnival, which serves as the hospital’s Official Celebration Partner, is on track to raise $8 million for St. Jude through a variety of fundraising activities both on board and ashore.
Carnival Vista is scheduled to enter service from Europe May 1, 2016, then reposition to New York for a series of voyages in November 2016 followed by the launch of year-round Caribbean service from Miami later that month.
