Carnival Cruise Line – Texas’ largest cruise operator – presented a $20,000 check to the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, representing proceeds from the “Pass the Boot” promotion at this season’s home games at Dr Pepper Park.

As the Official Cruise Line of the Frisco RoughRiders, Carnival matched monetary donations made by fans during the Texas League tradition of “Passing the Boot” for the RoughRiders Foundation, team and individual players after each RoughRiders’ home run.

In addition to sponsoring the “Pass the Boot” promotion, Carnival brought its signature brand of fun to the ballpark during the 2015 season.  Whenever a RoughRider player hit a home run, fans heard the iconic sound of the Carnival ship horn with celebratory graphics illuminating the stadium’s LED signs.  The cruise line also sponsored the “Carnival Crush Inning” during which fans were randomly selected to win a free Carnival cruise for two if a RoughRiders player hit a home run during that inning.

Carnival also hosted “Kids Day” during which children from unprivileged families within the Dallas/Fort Worth area enjoyed a RoughRiders game, along with fun activities, interactions with players, photo opportunities and more.

This season’s promotions represent the second year of a multi-year partnership between Carnival and the RoughRiders organization.
