For the fourth consecutive year, Carnival Cruise Line is participating in the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® in saving lives. As the hospital’s “Official Celebration Partner” Carnival has renewed its partnership with a goal of raising $10 million over the next five years. Carnival has raised more than $8 million for St. Jude since the start of their partnership in 2010.

During St. Jude Thanks and Giving, Carnival guests will have the opportunity to make a donation toward St. Jude via their Sail & Sign shipboard accounts. Guests on board will also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of Care to Play activities designed to raise funds and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Activities include “Groove for St. Jude,” a fun dance activity, as well as Carnival’s Teddy Bear Workshop in which children from the onboard youth programs can build their own cuddly St. Jude keepsake bear.

“St. Jude has truly become part of the Carnival family,” said Christine Duffy, Carnival’s president. “Our employees, guests and travel agent partners take tremendous pride in our role as a financial supporter and provider of fun and memorable experiences for the patients of this truly extraordinary hospital and research institution.”

Carnival’s St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign kicked off this month and will run through January 9, 2016.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened in 1962.
