New Play 60 at Sea Football-Themed Activities Debut on Carnival Cruise Line’s Three Texas-Based Ships

Just in time for football season, Carnival Cruise Line – the Official Cruise Line of the Houston Texans – has rolled out a variety of fun Play 60 at Sea football-themed activities on its three Texas-based ships, Carnival Breeze, Carnival Liberty and Carnival Freedom.

The program is designed to encourage kids to stay active for 60 minutes a day even while on vacation, whether it’s running along the jogging track, sliding down the water slide, working out in the gym or playing a round of mini-golf.  On the final sea day, activities modeled after Houston Texans practice drills are offered on board.  Activities include a ladder drill, cone drill, field goal kick and passing exercises.

All kids ages 5-15 sailing on Carnival’s three Texas-based ships receive a Play 60 at Sea playbook, developed in partnership with Texas Children’s Hospital, the Houston Texans local sponsor of Play 60.  The playbook includes healthy eating and hydration tips from TORO, the Texans mascot, as well as a day-by-day chart where kids can list their exercise achievements during the cruise.

At the end of each cruise, kids who participate in the Play 60 at Sea exercises and turn in a completed playbook receive a logoed backpack and are entered into a drawing to receive a number of Houston Texans prizes. Prizes include everything from game tickets and lunch with a player to official jerseys and autographed items.

Carnival is Texas’ number one cruise line with three ships operating year-round from Galveston and carrying more than 600,000 guests annually – the most of any cruise line.
