Carnival Cruise Line earned ‘Best Domestic Cruise Line’ honors at the 14th annual Travel Weekly Readers Choice Awards which were presented last night in New York.

The awards recognize travel industry suppliers who led the way in product and service during the past year.   Travel Weekly readers were invited to write in the names of any company they believed best exemplified that particular category. More than 15,000 votes were cast with Carnival Cruise Line receiving more votes in the ‘Best Domestic Cruise Line’ category than any other cruise operator.

Carnival Cruise Line enjoyed a successful and memorable 2016 highlighted by the introduction of Carnival Vista, which kicked off its inaugural Caribbean season from Miami last month.  The largest and most innovative ship in the Carnival fleet, Carnival Vista offers a number of unique and exciting features, including the first brewery on a North American-based cruise ship, a groundbreaking aerial attraction called SkyRide, the first IMAX Theatre at sea, and Family Harbor, with family-friendly staterooms, a family lounge, a family concierge and more.

The line also expanded capacity in a number of key markets, including Port Canaveral, Fla.; Galveston, Texas; and New Orleans, and launched four- and five-day service from Mobile, Ala.  Additionally, the line introduced new onboard programming partnering with recognizable brands and organizations such as Build-A-Bear and Spike TV’s Lip Synch Battle while expanding an existing relationship with  Food Network star Guy Fieri who is introducing his new Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse on several ships.
