The launch of the Carnival Splendor also included the debut of the ship’s luxurious new “Cloud 9 Spa,” a stunning two-level 21,000-square-foot health and wellness center.

Spanning the forward portion of two full decks with large picture windows providing panoramic views of the sea, “Cloud 9 Spa” is designed as an oceangoing oasis for relaxation and tranquility, with such innovations as a thalassotherapy pool, an elaborate thermal suite, and 17 private treatment rooms, including two VIP facilities for couples.

Adjacent to the facility are 68 spa staterooms and suites – a first for Carnival – accessible by a private elevator and offering a variety of exclusive amenities and privileges.

“Cloud 9 Spa” also houses a full gymnasium, expansive workout facilities and a full-service beauty salon. Carnival Splendor also offers a wide range of health-conscious dining options, including an extensive salad bar and 24-hour frozen yogurt in the Lido restaurant and, in the main dining rooms, “Spa Carnival Fare,” gourmet-style selections that are lower in calories, fat, cholesterol, and sodium.
