Record Booking Activity Spurs Carnival Cruise Lines to Launch Second One-Day Sale Event

RECORD BOOKING ACTIVITY SPURS CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES TO LAUNCH SECOND ONE-DAY SALE EVENT

MIAMI (March 19, 2007) – Capitalizing on the momentum created by a record six-week booking period, as well as the company’s highest single-day reservations record, which was spurred by a one-day sale event, Carnival Cruise Lines will offer another one-day sale on Thursday, March 22, 2007.

During the period from February 5 through March 18, 2007, net individual reservations across Carnival’s fleet of 22 ships, 19 of which operate in the Bahamas/Caribbean region, were up 28 percent versus the comparable period in 2006. At the same time, Carnival Cruise Lines’ capacity increased six percent. During that same six-week period, the total number of net individual reservations received exceeded any other six-week period in the cruise line’s 35-year history. Additionally, on March 1, 2007, the company conducted a one-day sale event and achieved the highest number of individual reservations in a single day, while that full week, Feb. 26 through March 4, marked the single highest one-week reservations period in Carnival Cruise Lines’ history.

To continue the momentum, Carnival will offer another one-day sale event on March 22, providing best available upgrades within like cabin categories. For example, consumers can book the minimum-priced balcony stateroom and receive a complimentary upgrade to the best available stateroom within that same cabin type.

“Clearly consumers are taking note of the tremendous pricing available right now on our Caribbean voyages and the inherent quality and value of a Carnival cruise vacation,” said Bob Dickinson, president and CEO of Carnival Cruise Lines. “People may have been deferring vacation decisions earlier in the year, based primarily on continuing economic uncertainties, in our view. However, it is evident that, within today’s lifestyles, consumers view vacations as a necessity rather than a luxury and are making plans, particularly when the cost-value equation is virtually irresistible,” he added.

Dickinson also pointed to the increasingly varied array of Carnival’s itinerary options and heightened quality and diversity of shipboard amenities as factors contributing to cruise line’s continued growth in popularity. “We have ramped up our efforts to communicate the huge variety of cruise lengths, itinerary options and departure points we offer, as well as some of the myriad product improvements Carnival has initiated the past few years in terms of shipboard features, cuisine and amenities,” said Dickinson.

Guests sailing aboard the “Fun Ships” now enjoy such features as the Carnival Comfort Bed sleep system, featuring plush mattresses, luxurious duvets, high quality linens, and comfortable pillows, including a “suite pillow” menu for guests in suite accommodations; the Georges Blanc Signature Selections- menu items created by the world-renowned French master chef; as well as expanded children and teen programming and facilities; Carnival’s signature “Twister Waterslides”; updated health and fitness centers; and fleetwide wireless Internet access and cell phone service.

Carnival’s exclusive one-day sale will encompass a wide variety of 2007-08 departures operated on the cruise line’s 22 “Fun Ships” which offer voyages ranging from three to 16 days to the Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, New England, Bermuda, Europe and the Greek Isles.

Sample starting prices include $249 for three-day Bahamas cruises from Miami on the Fascination and $499 for seven-day Caribbean voyages from Miami and Port Canaveral on the Carnival Triumph and Carnival Glory, respectively. All prices are per person, based on double occupancy.
