 Carnival Cruise Lines has wrapped up its Name the Carnival Splendor Spa Content. After a month long run and over 20,000 spa name entries, a committee is being chosen to pick the winning name. The winner will receive a cruise in a spa stateroom aboard the Carnival Splendor, as well as unlimited spa treatments.

 Arthur Joseph, Carnival Cruise Lines employee, competed on the NBC show Deal or No Deal last week. When faced with a life altering decision, choose between a chance at a million dollars or a significantly more selfless act that would help countless others, he chose the latter. Coming into the show, Arthur’s goal was to buy his mother a house with the winnings. Instead, Arthur chose to give up the chance to win the $1,000,000, and by doing so, to help the lives of many. The deal Arthur accepted included various Miami Heat memorabilia and a small amount of money. The name of Carnival Cruise Lines’ next new ship and its interior design complement each other perfectly; the central design idea of the line’s new 3,006-passenger Carnival Splendor — set to debut in July 2008 — is “Splendid Things,” a celebration of the magnificent, lustrous and elegant. Carnival Cruise Lines’ 3,006-passenger Carnival Splendor – the largest “Fun Ship” ever constructed – will launch year-round seven-day Mexican Riviera cruises from Long Beach, Calif., beginning in March 2009, following its inaugural schedule of European and Caribbean voyages. Later today, Carnival Cruise Lines and the Port of San Diego will commemorate the launch of the port’s first year-round cruise program with a special VIP event aboard the 2,052-passenger Elation, which departs this afternoon on a four-day cruise to Cabo San Lucas. Carnival’s Elation recently began operating San Diego’s first and only year-round cruise program encompassing four-day cruises departing Thursdays to Cabo San Lucas and five-day cruises to Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada departing on Mondays and Saturdays, on a rotating schedule. The on-line blog by Carnival Freedom Senior Cruise Director John Heald continues to grow in popularity and, last week for the first time, achieved a top 25 ranking among the more than one million blogs of WordPress.com, a leading blog-hosting service.
