Carnival Unveils New ‘Serenity’ Adults-Only Outdoor Retreat

Exclusive Haven Debuts As Part Of Line’s $250 Million ‘Evolutions of Fun’ Initiative When the Carnival Inspiration emerges from its month long dry dock in early October, it will be the first Carnival ship to feature a brand new adults-only area called “Serenity.” Designed as an ocean-going oasis for relaxation, tranquility and comfort, the new “Serenity” areas are part of Carnival’s $250 million “Evolutions of Fun” ship enhancement initiative which is resulting in a dramatic transformation of the line’s eight “Fantasy-class” vessels. The “Serenity” areas will be located in a secluded aft section of the ship that provides for spectacular ocean vistas. The stunning new design will feature plush chaise lounges and chairs. On Aug. 25, Heald’s blog held the number one position for a period of time, before ending the day ranked number three, based on readership volume among the one-million-plus blogs of WordPress, a leading blog-hosting service. That day’s blog, which featured a preview of sister company Cunard Line’s new Queen Victoria, also set a personal one-day readership record of more than 11,400 visitors. The dramatic rise in readership is just the latest milestone achieved by Heald’s highly popular blog, which was originally launched as part of the micro-site for the Carnival Freedom but has now has taken on a life of its own.…

One-Kilometer Walks, Other Activities to be Featured on Majority of ‘Fun Ship’ Fleet Following a highly successful pilot program aboard the Carnival Valor and Carnival Fascination, Carnival Cruise Lines will dramatically expand its involvement with the “On Deck for the Cure” breast cancer fundraising initiative, adding one-kilometer walks and other activities to the majority of its fleet. Modeled after a program introduced by Holland America Line and launched earlier this year aboard five Carnival Corporation & plc brands, the innovative fundraising initiative benefits Susan G. Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK) today finalized an agreement with the government of St. Maarten and the Port of St. Maarten to provide funding to support the construction of a new two-berth cruise ship pier on the island of St. Maarten. John Heald Previews Cunard Line’s new Queen Victoria Carnival Cruise Lines’ Senior Cruise Director John Heald has gone corporate. His popular blog, which until now has been featured within the cruise line’s Web site (www.carnival.com), has now been linked to the Web site of its parent company, Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK).
