Carnival Cruise Lines, the world’s largest cruise operator, has earned a Crystal Award for the Most Outstanding Travel Reward Program from the Society of Incentive & Travel Executives (SITE), comprised of top professionals in incentive travel. The award, which was presented last month at SITE’s annual conference in Monterey, Calif., recognized Carnival for providing a unique and memorable travel experience, superior product and services during a seven-day Alaska cruise incentive program created by Harith Wickrema of Harith Productions, a full-service meeting, incentive and production company in Philadelphia, and Char McClelland of Alaska Destination Specialists, an Anchorage-based destination management company for  Bristol, Tenn.-based King Pharmaceuticals.  Partnering together, these companies created customized on-board experiences, including private dinning areas, custom menu items and…

Carnival Fantasy to Undergo Full ‘Evolutions of Fun’ Upgrades This Fall

Carnival WaterWorks Aqua Park, Serenity Adults-Only Area, Redesigned Main Pool to be Installed During 35-Day Dry Dock An expansive new aqua park featuring a 300-foot-long water slide, along with an exclusive adults-only area, and a totally redesigned “resort-style” main pool will be incorporated into the Carnival Fantasy when the 2,052-passenger SuperLiner undergoes a multi-million-dollar dry dock this fall.   The “extreme makeover” represents phase two of “Evolutions of Fun,” Carnival Cruise Lines’ $250 million extensive ship refurbishment program for the line’s eight 70,000-ton Fantasy-class vessels.       Carnival Fantasy, which operates year-round four- and five-day western Caribbean cruises from New Orleans, will be the third ship to be fully outfitted with all “Evolutions of Fun” upgrades, with Carnival Inspiration and Carnival Imagination completed…

Carnival Cruise Lines to Conduct Advertising Agency Review

Carnival Cruise Lines, the world’s largest cruise brand, will conduct a review for its comprehensive advertising and marketing account, which includes media and creative. The cruise line is conducting the agency review in keeping with best practices and is in the process of engaging a consultant.  Selected agencies will then be invited to submit proposals, including its current primary agency of record, Coral Gables, Fla.–based CooperDDB. Carnival Cruise Lines, the world’s largest cruise operator, has 22 ships operating three- to 18-day voyages in the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe and other popular destinations.  The line has three new ships scheduled to debut between now and 2011.
