            The new 3,006-passenger Carnival Splendor is shown here rounding Cape Horn in South America on its way to its permanent homeport of Long Beach, Calif., from where it will operate year-round seven-day Mexican Rivera cruises beginning April 5.  Carnival Splendor will be the largest “Fun Ship” ever deployed on the West Coast.

          The second John Heald Bloggers Cruise aboard the Carnival Fa ntasy attracted more than 400 enthusiastic participants, including Matt Meisenhelder, a Wilson, N.C., resident who was awarded a free stateroom as part of an on-line contest sponsored by Porthole Cruise Magazine.

EXTENSIVE MULTI-MILLION-DOLLAR REFURBISHMENT ADDS A HOST OF NEW FEATURES TO CARNIVAL SENSATION  Expansive Water Park, Adults-Only Retreat, Tropical-Themed Pool, 98 New Balconies, Circle C Youth Facility Highlight ‘Evolutions of Fun’ Upgrades              MIAMI (February 17, 2009) – The 2,052-passenger Carnival Sensation has undergone a multi-million-dollar renovation and emerged with a host of new facilities and features, including a sprawling water park, an exclusive adults-only retreat, and redesigned tropical themed main pool. Ninety-eight balconies were also incorporated onto existing ocean view staterooms and a new Circle C facility for 12- to 14-year olds was added, as well.
