Malt Shop Memories Cruise Brings the Best of the ’50s and ’60s to the High Seas

Carnival Inspiration

Carnival Cruise Lines and Sixthman have partnered to launch the Malt Shop Memories Cruise, aboard the 2,052-passenger Carnival Inspiration departing from Tampa, Fla.  May 13-17, 2010.

The five-day cruise will offer guests a unique travel experience as they journey back to the birth of rock n’ roll via live performances and themed events.

Inspired by Time Life’s Malt Shop Memories collection – a box set containing 150 songs epitomizing the birth of rock n’ roll – the themed cruise will feature live performances from the era’s top artists, including Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell and The Platters all in an intimate and personal setting.

Apart from non-stop music and artist interactions, guests will enjoy other activities reminiscent of the era, including sock-hops, beach parties, dance contests, bingo and more.

The Carnival Inspiration, which sails year-round from Tampa, also offers a number of casual and formal dining options, 12 lounges and bars, and an expansive 12,000-square-foot health and wellness fitness. The 70,000-ton ship also includes a resort-style pool area, Serenity- an adults only retreat – and Carnival WaterWorks, the line’s popular water park.
