Carnival Brings “Fun Ship” Style Fun to Cooper River Bridge Run With Giant 40-Foot-High Slide

This past Saturday in Charleston, SC, Carnival provided thousands of Cooper River Bridge Run runners and walkers with some exhilarating fun at the finish line in the form of a gigantic 40-foot-high inflatable slide at the Bridge Run Finish Festival.   The Cooper River Bridge Run, among the largest 10K races in the U.S., hosted 40.000 participants and several thousand spectators.

The humongous slide not only brought laughs and thrills to participants, but also raised funds for the local MUSC Children’s Hospital, with the line donating $1 for ever rider who went down the slide.  At the end of the event and with the support of thousands of riders, Carnival is donating $5,000 to the local children’s hospital.

In addition to the slide, Carnival’s popular mascot, “Fun Ship” Freddy, was on hand for the festivities, greeting runners and walkers at the Kids Fun Run in Hampton Park on Friday as well as participants and spectators on Saturday at the Finish Festival in Marion Square.

Carnival’s 2,056-passenger Carnival Fantasy will launch a new year-round cruise program from Charleston offering five- six- and seven-day Bahamas/Key West cruises beginning May 18.
