Kirsten Sanchez, Carnival’s business development manager for south Georgia, gives new meaning to the term “going the extra mile.” For her most recent round of sales calls, she’s traveling entirely by bicycle to promote Carnival and raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Sanchez has been traveling roughly 60 miles each day this week visiting about a dozen travel agencies throughout her territory. The ride is a yearly event in Georgia that draws more than 2,000 participants. After arriving at her destination, Sanchez sets up a table with Carnival shirts, towels, and various other logo items which are sold to other bicycling participants, with all proceeds benefiting St. Jude.
Sanchez (second from left) also conducts her regular sales visits to southern Georgia travel agencies, including Pat Dykes (far left), Mary Wright (second from right) and Roxanne Towler of AAA Travel in Columbus, Ga., pictured here.
Sanchez, who is documenting her trip via her Facebook page, expects to bike more than 300 miles this week and raise hundreds of dollars for the children of St. Jude.
