Nearly 100 Carnival Employees Participate in International Coastal Clean-Up on Miami Beach

Nearly 100 members of Carnival’s employee volunteer service group, the “Fun Team,” participated in the International Coastal Cleanup, an annual event sponsored by the Ocean Conservancy designed to improve the quality of beaches, lakes and other coastal areas.

The group, which was comprised of Carnival employees and their friends and family members, collected hundreds of pounds of trash and debris on Miami Beach, helping to restore the beach’s natural beauty.

In addition, International Coastal Cleanup participants inputted the different kinds of debris they found on data collection cards which will be tabulated and assessed by the Ocean Conservancy to identify at risk locations and to plan for future cleanup efforts.

The beach clean-up was part of the “Fun Team’s” ongoing community service projects, which take place at least twice each month in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties and benefit a wide range of educational, social service and charitable organizations.
