Dominick A. Froio, Jr. has been named vice president of security services for Miami-based Carnival Cruise Lines.
In this capacity, Froio is responsible for all security functions throughout the company’s 22-vessel fleet, including a team of uniformed shipboard security force, and oversees a group of experienced shoreside investigators comprised of former police officers and law enforcement officials, as well as security personnel in the company’s various North American homeports. He also serves as a liaison with various local, county, federal and international law enforcement agencies.
Froio joined Carnival in 1993 as staff investigator following a 20-plus year career in law enforcement, during which he served as a senior investigator for the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations and coordinator of its major crimes unit.
Froio has supervised major investigations as part of local, state and federal task forces and has taught undercover operations at the New York State Police Academy. Froio also worked for the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department and Broward County State Attorney’s Office.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Froio holds degrees in criminal justice, sociology and public administration from Syracuse University. He is a resident of Weston, Fla.
