John Heald and Blog Readers at Times Square With Legendary New Year's Eve Ball

Carnival’s Senior  Cruise Director John Heald and a few of his blog readers had a chance to check out the oversized crystal ball that will drop later tonight in Times Square to ring in the New Year.   Carnival is the official sponsor of the more than one ton of confetti that will rain down on more than one million revelers as part of the legendary New Year’s festivities in Times Square.

  Earlier today, representatives from Carnival had an opportunity to view a ‘test drop’ of the oversized crystal ball that will be lowered at midnight in Times Square on Dec. 31 to ring in the New Year.  Carnival is the official sponsor of the confetti that will rain down on more than a million revelers in Times Square as the clock strikes midnight tomorrow.

The Results Are In! Winners Announced for the First-Ever 'John Heald Awards'

After a week’s worth of intense voting, the winners have been selected for the first-ever John Heald Awards.  Hosted on his popular blog, www.johnhealdsblog.com, the inaugural awards recognizes reader favorites in 18 different categories, including favorite ship, dessert, crew member, and towel animal.   Carnival kicked off its year-round partnership with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Children’s Hospital in Charleston with the first of several visits by the entertainment staff from the Carnival Fantasy, which operates the city’s only year-round cruise program.
