Carnival kicked off its year-round partnership with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Children’s Hospital in Charleston with the first of several visits by the entertainment staff from the Carnival Fantasy, which operates the city’s only year-round cruise program.

During the visit, shipboard staff brought some Carnival-style fun to the patients, keeping the kids entertained with performances by Fun Force, the ship’s high-energy acrobatic team, table magicians and of course, the line’s ever-popular mascot “Fun Ship” Freddy.

The Carnival Fantasy staff did not come empty handed and showered the children with gifts including backpacks filled with goodies, Carnival Towel Pals and books.

Carnival officially launched the first year-round cruise service from Charleston in May 2010 on the Carnival Fantasy and will operate a series of Bermuda cruises for the first time from Charleston next year.
