TravelingMamas.com Helps Spread a Little Carnival Magic to Its Readers

With Carnival Magic’s debut just three days away, a few of the bloggers sailing on the inaugural May 1 voyage from Venice have agreed to spread a little magic to their readers through a series of fun giveaways.   In an artist rendering commissioned by Carnival Corporation & plc to commemorate the launch of its 100th cruise ship, the Carnival Magic, delivered earlier this week, is depicted sailing with the company’s first ship, the TSS Mardi Gras, which began service in 1972.

Carnival Cruise Lines Takes Delivery of New 130,000-Ton Carnival Magic

CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES TAKES DELIVERY OF NEW 130,000-TON CARNIVAL MAGIC New 3,690-Passenger Vessel is 100th Cruise Ship in Carnival Corporation & plc’s Fleet   Carnival Cruise Lines, a brand of global cruise operator Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), today accepted delivery of the corporation’s 100th ship, the Carnival Magic, in ceremonies at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, where the vessel was built.             In recognition of this achievement, on April 29 all guests sailing aboard Carnival Corporation & plc’s 100 ships will enjoy a complimentary champagne toast at dinner to commemorate this historic and unprecedented milestone.  All told, more than 227,000 guests across the company’s 10 cruise brands will participate in the toast, believed to be the largest celebration…

  Creativity was certainly on display with Carnival’s Build a Ship Out of Everyday Items contest with many highly unique and imaginative entries.  In the end, it was Carrie Duwelius’ “Carnival Cardboard Cruiser” that was judged the winner, earning more on-line votes than any other entry.  For her winning entry, the Naperville, Ill., resident receives a complimentary seven-day Caribbean cruise for four on the new Carnival Magic. Sailing on a sea of cardboard waves, Carrie’s colorful and ornate six-foot-high replica of a Carnival “Fun Ship” came complete with cut-out portholes, the line’s signature Twister waterslide and, of course, the company’s iconic funnel. The contest offered more than just a chance for participants to show their creativity, it also raised money…
