WARNER PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT

AND CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER AT CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES

Dwayne Warner, a 25-year Carnival veteran, has been named vice president and chief information officer for Miami-based Carnival Cruise Lines, the world’s largest cruise operator.

In this capacity, Warner is responsible for overseeing all of Carnival’s technology systems and leading the information technology organization. The promotion is effective immediately and Warner reports to Jim Berra, Carnival’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

Warner joined Carnival in 1986 as a financial systems programmer/analyst. He held multiple information systems management positions and was named vice president, strategic automation in 2000.

At Carnival, Warner has led the development of the company’s next generation reservations and customer management systems, as well as helping to build industry leading travel agent and consumer facing online platforms.  Warner has played a key role in overseeing the architecture and development of effective and scalable solutions to meet a wide range of business opportunities.

“Dwayne is a tremendous asset to Carnival.  It is rare to find someone who combines a deep knowledge of the present environment with the ability to recognize and rapidly leverage new methodologies and technologies.  His ability to problem solve and keep pace with what is a very dynamic and increasingly technology dependent organization is virtually unmatched,” Berra said.

Prior to joining Carnival, Warner spent four years in the United States Air Force stationed at Gunter Air Force Station in Alabama where he participated on the design and development of various military IT systems.

He graduated from Barry University with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and is a member of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society.

Carnival Cruise Lines is "The World's Most Popular Cruise Line®," with 23 “Fun Ships” operating three- to 16-day voyages to The Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii, Panama Canal, Canada, New England, Bermuda, Europe, the Pacific Islands and New Zealand.  In addition to the 130,000-ton Carnival Magic, which debuted in Europe May 1, 2011, the new 130,000-ton Carnival Breeze is scheduled to enter service June 3, 2012.
