Carnival Miracle Acknowledges Sept. 11 with Special Ceremony in New York Harbor; Part of Fleetwide Recognition by Carnival Ships

Guests and crew aboard Carnival Miracle joined thousands of others in New York as they commemorated the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Carnival Miracle’s departure was delayed so that those on board could view the nighttime dedication of the September 11 memorial at Ground Zero with the ship positioned nearby in New York harbor. The memorial lighting was the culmination of a number of events on board, which included a bagpiper who strolled throughout the ship in a unique tribute to Sept. 11 victims.

The ceremonies aboard the Carnival Miracle were part of a fleetwide effort by all 23 Carnival Cruise Lines’ ships that included a moment of silence in honor of the victims. The American flag was also displayed in all atriums fleetwide.
