Carnival Freedom and Carnival Dream have each earned a 100 score on their most recent United States Public Health (U.S.P.H.) inspections in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Port Canaveral, Fla., marking the fourth time a Carnival ship has earned perfect marks over the past month.  Carnival Pride and Carnival Sensation also earned 100 U.S.P.H. scores during inspections in Baltimore and Port Canaveral, respectively, over the past four weeks. The unannounced inspections, which are conducted twice each year and required for any cruise ship with an international itinerary calling on a U.S. or Canadian port, encompass a broad range of shipboard sanitation areas, including proper food handling, preparation and storage procedures and overall cleanliness of the galley and other shipboard areas.  The…

Carnival Cruise Lines was well represented at this weekend’s South Beach Wine & Food Festival’s Amstel Light Burger Bash with Food Network star Guy Fieri, winning the Heinz Best-Dressed Burger for his Straight-Up With a Pig Patty. This burger is served at Guy’s Burger Joint currently on the Carnival Liberty and includes a ground chuck and bacon patty with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle with a liberal slathering of Fieri’s signature donkey sauce. Slide Show Offers Comprehensive Look at Carnival Spirit’s New Features

Carnival Spirit recently emerged from an extensive dry dock that added a number of new features, including a WaterWorks aqua park and a Serenity adults-only retreat.  The following slide show offers a look at these colorful and inviting spaces.  Carnival Spirit will continue offering Mexican Riviera departures from the West Coast, as well as Alaska and Hawaii cruises, before launching the line’s first-ever schedule from Australia in October.

Second Carnival Ship Aces United States Public Health Inspection in Past Three Weeks

Carnival Sensation earned a perfect score on its most recent United States Public Health (U.S.P.H.) inspection at Port Canaveral,Fla., joining the Carnival Pride which also earned a 100 U.S.P.H. score just three weeks ago. The ships received perfect marks on all 42 items that comprise the U.S. Public Health Service’s comprehensive Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) checklist. The unannounced inspections, which are conducted twice a year and required for any cruise ship with an international itinerary calling at a U.S. port, evaluate vessels in a wide variety of areas, including adherence to proper food handling, preparation and storage procedures, and overall galley cleanliness.  Ships’ potable water supplies used in spas and pools are evaluated, as well. Carnival Employees ‘Take the Plunge’ to Raise Money for Maryland Special Olympics

Proving that Carnival employees will do just about anything for a good cause, Vice President of Sales – Eastern Region Kirk Neal and Business Development Director for Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC and Northern Virginia Kathy Donnelly were among the thousands of individuals who braved the icy waters of Chesapeake Bay as part of the Polar Bear Plunge benefiting Maryland Special Olympics.  Dozens of travel agent partners, along with their friends and family members and the line’s mascot “Fun Ship” Freddy, participated, as well. Carnival was also a sponsor of the annual event, which collects donations from various individuals, groups and organizations pledging to “take the plunge.”  Participants ventured into the chilly waters at different intervals over the course of several hours,…

The 2,974-passenger Carnival Valor will launch a five-port, seven-day schedule from San Juan beginning Feb. 10, 2013, becoming the newest and largest ship to operate year-round from that port. Carnival Valor will replace the 2,758-passenger Carnival Victory, which will reposition from San Juan to Miami to assume the Carnival Destiny’s four- and five-day cruises beginning Feb. 4, 2013.  Carnival Victory will be the newest and largest ship to operate year-round four- and five-day voyages from South Florida. Carnival Cruise Lines will launch its widest array of European itineraries ever with Carnival Legend offering an exciting choice of options, including the line’s first Norwegian fjords itinerary and its first extended program from the UK, as well as cruises to the Baltic, Mediterranean and British Isles, beginning in spring 2013. Carnival Legend’s schedule will encompass 12-day voyages to Norway/Western Europe, the British Isles and the Baltic departing from Dover (London), along with 12-day Mediterranean cruises departing from Venice, Barcelona and Dover.
