Representing Carnival Cruise Lines’ most ambitious refit and transformation project ever, Carnival Destiny will undergo a $155 million dry dock next year that will incorporate all of the line’s exciting “Fun Ship 2.0” features, along with variety of innovations unique to this vessel and add 182 new cabins.  Following the dry dock, which will take place next spring at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, the ship will be renamed Carnival Sunshine.

Carnival Sunshine will usher in an exciting new era in “Fun Ship” cruising with new features such as the first three-level Serenity adults-only retreat, a new tropical-themed Havana Bar, a full-service restaurant inspired by the line’s Mongolian wok venues, along with Carnival favorites such as Guy’s Burger Joint, RedFrog Pub, BlueIguana Cantina, Cucina del Capitano, among others.

Carnival Sunshine will sail in Europe from April to October 2013 then reposition to New Orleans for year-round Caribbean voyages beginning in November.
