Designed to promote the convenience and value of “Fun Ship” cruising from New York, the multi-channel campaign was created by Carnival’s ad agency, Boston-based Arnold Worldwide, and includes billboards along high-traffic thoroughfares, display ads in popular shopping malls and subway cars, and even electronic banners in Times Square, each featuring thought-provoking, engaging and often-humorous content. Carnival Cruise Lines today unveiled a new virtual tour of Carnival Sunshine, the line’s most comprehensive ship transformation project ever encompassing an unprecedented $155 million renovation that will add a host of dining, bar and entertainment innovations and spectacular outdoor spaces. Currently sailing as Carnival Destiny, the ship will emerge as Carnival Sunshine following a 49-day dry dock this spring then launch a schedule of European voyages April 12, 2013, before repositioning to New Orleans for year-round Caribbean departures beginning Nov. 18, 2013. The Fun Continues on John Heald’s Blogger Cruise!

It’s day five of the sixth annual John Heald’s Bloggers Cruise taking place on Carnival Breeze and the popular senior cruise director continues to post fun and interesting videos about the people who work aboard the line’s newest “Fun Ship.” In today’s video, John chats with legendary piano bar entertainer Ron Pass who offers up his thoughts on Piano Bar 88, which is taking Carnival’s spirited brand of fun to a whole new level with an engaging décor, theme nights and more. All Aboard The Carnival Breeze for the Sixth Annual John Heald’s Bloggers Cruise!

The sixth incarnation of John Heald’s Bloggers Cruise is in full swing, with 575 fans of the popular senior cruise director and blogger (www.johnhealdsblog.com) getting together for eight days of fun and merriment aboard the new Carnival Breeze. In addition to a number of exclusive events and activities, John and his faithful sidekick, Calvyn, have been producing a number of hilarious videos that showcase different venues on the ship. The video series includes John showcasing all the delicious Italian offerings available at Cucina del Capitano, as well as his memorable visit to the Cherry on Top confection and novelty store, with scene-stealing appearances by Calvyn in both spots. Carnival Cruise Lines’ parent company, Carnival Corporation & plc, made a donation of $300,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Greater Miami, an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children through mentorship opportunities. The donation – one of the largest local gifts to BBBS of Greater Miami – is the result of sponsorship proceeds from a book entitled An Ocean of Innovation, A Passion for Giving Back that commemorates the 25 years since Carnival Corporation & plc’s initial public offering and highlights the community service initiatives of the company’s 10 global brands. Mark Jackson – a 24-year veteran of the United States Coast Guard with extensive experience in nautical engineering, maritime repair and refurbishments, and ship operations – has been named vice president – technical operations at Miami-based Carnival Cruise Lines, the world’s largest cruise operator. In this capacity, Jackson will oversee all technical marine functions across Carnival Cruise Lines’ 24-ship fleet, including repair and maintenance, refurbishment projects, and related technical services.  Jackson joins Carnival April 1, reporting to Martin Landtman, senior vice president – marine operations. Jackson most recently served as commanding officer of the United States Coast Guard base in Miami Beach, Fla., with responsibilities that included naval and electronics engineering, procurement, finance, human resources, and port operations.
