Carnival’s “Fun Ships” are known for their exciting top-deck attractions and Carnival Sunshine’s open-air spaces will take this excitement to an entirely new level. The most recent video in the Carnival Sunshine’s transformation spotlights two spaces that are sure to be a hit with guests of all ages – the WaterWorks water park and the SportSquare outdoor recreation area.

WaterWorks will offer all sorts of splash-tastic fun, from an exhilarating 334-foot-long Twister water slide – the longest in the Carnival fleet – to a kiddie spray area and the one-of-a-kind Speedway Splash, with twin slides where racers slide their way to the checkered flag as their times are displayed on a screen.

SportSquare will feature a wide variety of fun outdoor diversions, including a suspended ropes course with breathtaking views to the sea 150 feet below, a two-level miniature golf course, ping-ping, foosball and pool tables, a basketball court and more.

These spaces are part of a massive $155 million dry dock that is adding a variety of dining, bar and entertainment innovations that are part of the line’s Fun Ship 2.0 product enhancement initiative.

Carnival Sunshine is set to debut May 5 operating a series of nine- and 12-day Mediterranean voyages through October.  The ship will then sail on a 16-day trans-Atlantic crossing from Barcelona to New Orleans Nov. 1-17, positioning the vessel for year-round seven-day Caribbean service from the Big Easy.
