Carnival Cruise Lines, the Official Cruise Line of the Dallas Cowboys, is turning up the music as part of its multi-year partnership with “America’s Team.” Texas’ largest cruise operator announced today that it will bring country music superstars Rascal Flatts to AT&T Stadium for a special pre-game Carnival LIVE concert for Cowboys fans attending the October 19 game against archrival New York Giants. Rascal Flatts is the most-awarded country group of the past decade with 22.5 million albums sold and 15 number-one singles. Carnival Liberty Earns Perfect 100 U.S.P.H. Inspection Score

For the second time this year, Carnival Liberty has scored 100 during its most recent United States Public Health (U.S.P.H.) inspection which took place earlier this month in Port Canaveral, Fla., This marks the ninth time this year that a Carnival ship has earned a perfect 100 score on its U.S.P.H. inspection. To earn a 100 score, cruise ships must receive perfect marks on all 44 items that comprise the U.S.P.H.’s comprehensive Vessel Sanitation Program checklist. The unannounced inspections, which are conducted twice a year and required for any cruise ship with an international itinerary calling at a U.S. port, evaluate vessels in a wide variety of areas, including adherence to proper food handling, preparation and storage procedures, and overall…

Carnival Legend Arrives in Sydney to Operate Seasonal Cruise Program from Down Under

    Following a 23-day trans-Pacific crossing, Carnival Legend arrived in Sydney Harbor earlier this week to kick off a seasonal schedule of eight- to 12-day voyages featuring destinations throughout New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji. Carnival Cruise Lines Wins Three Travel Weekly Magellan Awards

Carnival Cruise Lines has been recognized with three Travel Weekly 2014 Magellan Awards, earning top honors for its Olympics TV commercial “Bobslide,” the Moments That Matter trade marketing campaign, and Cruise Vacation Guide for travel agents.  The annual awards acknowledge travel suppliers in a wide variety of product, service and marketing-related categories. Created specifically for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, Carnival’s 30-second Bobslide commercial follows four young thrill-seekers who race together down one of the line’s popular waterslides “bobsled-style” with a sportscaster offering a play-by-play of their memorable run. Continuing its role as the Official Celebration Partner of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Carnival Cruise Lines held a marine-themed Day of Play for kids and their parents at the Memphis, Tennessee, hospital. Carnival Cruise Lines Renews Its Industry-Leading ‘Great Vacation Guarantee’ Through 2015

Carnival Cruise Lines is renewing its groundbreaking Great Vacation Guarantee which provides consumers an opportunity to receive a 110 percent refund, complimentary transportation home and a $100 shipboard credit on a future cruise if they are dissatisfied with their vacation for any reason.   In the year since Carnival originally introduced the guarantee, the line’s 24 ships have carried 4.5 million guests and the guarantee has been invoked only 47 times. Reno Named Vice President Of Entertainment At Carnival Cruise Lines

Sarah Beth Reno – a 27-year travel industry veteran – has been named vice president of entertainment for Miami-based Carnival Cruise Lines, the world’s largest cruise operator. In this capacity, Reno is responsible for all aspects of entertainment and programming for Carnival’s 24-ship fleet, including production revues, live musical performances, comedy clubs, guest activities, cruise directors/entertainment staff, and youth programs.  She will also focus on developing and bringing new entertainment concepts to the brand.  Reno starts at Carnival on October 6, reporting to Mark Tamis, Carnival’s senior vice president of guest operations. “Entertainment is a key component of the ‘Fun Ship’ vacation experience and we’re fortunate to have someone of Sarah’s caliber to oversee the many wide ranging entertainment offerings…

Carnival Cruise Lines took home the “Best Activities” award in the Cruise International Awards, an annual event in the UK that recognizes cruise lines in a wide variety of product- and service-related categories.  Carnival also was bestowed the title of “Highly Commended in the Best for First-Timers” category.  The awards were based on on-line voting by more than 25,000 Cruise International readers. Carnival Splendor docked at the Port of Boston for the first time this cruise season, part of a series of week-long fall foliage cruises from New York.  The popular itinerary also features day-long stops at Portland, Maine; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and Saint John New Brunswick. To commemorate the season’s first call in Boston, a traditional maritime plaque exchange ceremony was held on board the Carnival Splendor during a turnaround day earlier this week. Carnival Legend Marks Equator Crossing with Traditional Maritime Ceremony

  Guests and crew aboard the Carnival Legend – in the midst of a 23-day trans-Pacific repositioning cruise to Australia – participated in a centuries-old maritime tradition held to commemorate a ship’s crossing of the equator. On September 7 at 3 p.m., the Carnival Legend’s horn bellowed, summoning everyone to the Lido Deck for the time-honored ceremony. Accompanied by a band of friendly pirates, Carnival Legend Cruise Director Eli Sharplin – dressed as King Neptune as per nautical tradition – volunteered to have his head shaved by none other than Captain Giuseppe Gazzano.  The spectacle was witnessed by hundreds of mariners who gathered on deck.
