Continuing its role as the Official Celebration Partner of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Carnival Cruise Lines held a marine-themed Day of Play for kids and their parents at the Memphis, Tennessee, hospital.

Inspired by the line’s recently launched Camp Ocean children’s program, the “Great Underwater Adventure” included colorful ocean-inspired signage and decorations as well as a wide variety of engaging activities, from a Sunken Treasure Cove photo station and the Coral Reef Arts & Crafts section to the Artic Cove venue featuring games like a penguin-shaped bean bag toss and “fishing” for fun prizes, all led by an enthusiastic team of shipboard and shoreside employees from Carnival.   A Sea Creature Dance Party, Camp Ocean branded logo items and tasty buffet of undersea-themed food rounded out the day’s activities.

In addition to serving as the Official Celebration Partner of St. Jude, Carnival is on track to raise $8 million for the hospital by 2017 through its Care to Play: Carnival for St. Jude Kids shipboard fundraising campaign featuring a variety of on-board activities.  These include a fun dance activity called Groove for St. Jude and the Beary Cuddly program where kids can make their own stuffed animal with proceeds benefiting the hospital. Additionally, when guests purchase a designated bakery item from the line’s on-board shops or prior to their cruise on carnival.com, Carnival donates a portion of each item sold to St. Jude.
