Finalists Announced in Houston’s ‘Battle of the High School Marching Bands’ Competition

Carnival Cruise Lines and KHOU 11 today announced the five finalists for “The Battle of the High School Marching Bands” contest in Greater Houston and are now turning the voting over to the public to select the grand prize winner.

While each entry showcased great talent, school spirit and style, the following bands rose to the top in judging: Lamar High School, MacArthur High School, Manvel High School, Stephen F. Austin High School and The Woodlands College Park High School. Now these finalists have to strike the right note with fans to take home the ultimate prize, the title of “The Most Spirited High School Marching Band in Houston.”

From now until October 22, fans can rally around the KHOU 11 Facebook page at www.facebook.com/KHOU11 to vote for their favorite band, up to one time per day.  The winning band will be announced on KHOU 11 News this Morning the week of October 27 including a performance on the show. Each finalist will receive a trophy from Carnival Cruise Lines as a permanent reminder of their achievement.

All of the eligible schools that participated in the contest will receive a monetary donation to their school’s music program from Carnival Cruise Lines.
