To commemorate the first-ever call of the Carnival Splendor in Martinique, the ship’s officers and island representatives held a traditional maritime plaque exchange ceremony on board.

Captain Candeloro Donato, Chief Engineer Marco Scolaro and Hotel Director Nickos Batistatos are shown here during the ceremony with Chairman of the Martinique Tourism Authority Karine Roy-Camille.

Carnival Splendor docked at the picturesque port of Fort De France and guests were welcomed by greeters in colorful attire with the Carnivale Marching Band playing traditional island music.

During their time in Martinique, Carnival Splendor guests explored this charming Caribbean destination which encompasses 425 square miles and features beautiful beaches, interesting historical sites and excellent shopping and dining opportunities.

Carnival Splendor visited Martinique earlier this week as part of an eight-day Caribbean cruise from San Juan.
