Carnival Corporation & plc, the world’s largest travel and leisure company, today announced new cruise ship orders for two of its brands with Fincantieri S.p.A., the world’s largest cruise ship building company. The new cruise ships will be constructed by Fincantieri for Carnival Cruise Line and Holland America Line, two of Carnival Corporation’s nine industry-leading brands. Carnival Cruise Line’s as-yet-unnamed 3,954-passenger vessel, which is the 26th ship in the line’s fleet, will offer many of the newest and most popular features from Carnival’s current ships, along with several innovations that will be exclusive to this vessel. The delivery date for the new cruise ship is scheduled for March 2018. Homeport and itinerary information will be announced at a later date.…

Carnival Corporation & plc., the world’s largest travel and leisure company, today announced that Christine Duffy has been named president of Carnival Cruise Line, with 24 ships, making it the largest of Carnival Corporation’s nine distinct cruise brands. Carnival Cruise Lines has been named Best Cruise Line by the readers of CruiseFever.net, a popular online cruise-oriented site, receiving more votes than any other cruise operator.   Amber Cove, an exciting new destination located in the heart of the Dominican Republic’s breathtaking North Coast, known as the Amber Coast, just outside the historical town of Puerto Plata – will welcome its first cruise ship when the Carnival Victory arrives on October 6, 2015, for a day-long call. Carnival Victory scored 100 during its most recent United States Public Health (U.S.P.H.) inspection which took place earlier this month in Miami.   This marks the ninth time this year that a Carnival ship has earned a perfect U.S.P.H. score. To earn a 100 score, cruise ships must receive perfect marks on all 44 items that comprise the U.S.P.H.’s comprehensive Vessel Sanitation Program checklist. The unannounced inspections, which are conducted twice a year and required for any cruise ship with an international itinerary calling at a U.S. port, evaluate vessels in a wide variety of areas, including adherence to proper food handling, preparation and storage procedures, and overall galley cleanliness. Making a Difference This Holiday Season

  Carnival Cruise Lines and its employees, both on board and ashore, are doing their part to make the holidays brighter for needy children this year. As part of their annual support of the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, the company’s shoreside employees donated 500 toys and bikes that will be given to underprivileged children throughout South Florida. Shipboard team members are also participating in a gift donation program in conjunction with the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association.  In addition to collecting and donating toys, bikes and games, shipboard team members are visiting orphanages and hosting shipboard luncheons for hundreds of children throughout the Caribbean this year.

Carnival Cruise Lines To Offer Series of Unique Longer Length Voyages in 2015-16

Carnival Cruise Lines will offer a series of unforgettable 10- to 14-day voyages on six different ships between October 2015 and February 2016 that feature extended calls at magnificent destinations throughout the Caribbean, Bermuda, Mexican Riviera and The Bahamas. Reservations opened today on 11 different voyages offered on Carnival Miracle, Carnival Dream, Carnival Glory and Carnival Sunshine which depart from Long Beach, Calif., Port Canaveral, Fla., San Juan, Miami, and New Orleans and visit more than two dozen tropical destinations, including less traveled ports like Bonaire, Martinique, Dominica, Grenada and, for the first time on a Carnival ship, Tobago. Connie Austin of Sarasota, Fla.-based Coast to Coast Getaways was recently named the $10,000 grand prize winner in Carnival Cruise Lines’ “Book Five & Win” contest, which ran from August through October. In addition, 40 travel agents won $1,000 cash prizes as part of the contest, making the total giveaway to travel agents $50,000. To qualify for the contest, travel agents simply needed to enter their bookings during the contest period on GoCCL.com, the line’s travel agent Internet portal.
