Carnival Sponsors Fun & Fit As a Family Event at South Beach Wine & Food Festival

  Carnival brought its signature brand of fun to the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, sponsoring the Fun & Fit As A Family event at Miami’s Jungle Island for the fourth consecutive year. This year’s event was made even more memorable with fun activities inspired by Carnival’s new marine-themed Camp Ocean program. At an interactive play area set up in Jungle Island’s courtyard, kids could play a Carnival-themed mini-golf hole, have their face painted with ocean-inspired creatures, participate in fun hula hoop contests and create their own custom-made sailor hats at an arts and crafts table.  A variety of giveaways – including Camp Ocean-themed temporary tattoos and tote bags — were also available. Two Carnival Cruise Line ships have earned top honors in Cruise Critic’s “Cruisers Choice Awards” with Carnival Liberty named best value for the money for the second year in a row and Carnival Pride best cruise from the Northeast.  The awards are based on reviews of Cruise Critic readers who rate ships in a wide variety of product- and service-related categories. Carnival Pride Earns Perfect 100 U.S.P.H. Inspection Score

Carnival Pride scored 100 during its recent United States Public Health (U.S.P.H.) inspection which took place at the Port of Tampa. To earn a 100 score, cruise ships must receive perfect marks on all 44 items that comprise the U.S.P.H.’s comprehensive Vessel Sanitation Program checklist. The unannounced inspections, which are conducted twice a year and required for any cruise ship with an international itinerary calling at a U.S. port, evaluate vessels in a wide variety of areas, including adherence to proper food handling, preparation and storage procedures, and overall galley cleanliness. Ships’ potable water supplies used in spas and pools are evaluated, as well. The 2,124-passenger Carnival Pride currently operates seven-day Caribbean cruises from the Port of Tampa and will…

  Carnival Cruise Line, Texas’ number-one cruise operator, marked the arrival of Carnival Freedom at its new year-round homeport of Galveston on Saturday, Feb. 14, with a celebration honoring U.S. military personnel and their families. In partnership with Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit organization that supports military families, service members and their families were treated to an overnight event featuring a variety of daytime activities, including an exclusive outdoor Carnival LIVE performance by country music superstar Martina McBride, along with dinner and a full evening of entertainment, all compliments of Carnival. PortMiami will be the year-round homeport for Carnival Cruise Line’s largest ship to date, the 133,500-ton Carnival Vista, when it launches six- to eight-day Caribbean cruises beginning in December 2016.   Carnival Cruise Line’s wide-ranging sustainability and environmental initiatives were recognized by the Maritime Association of South Carolina which presented the cruise line with its Environmental Stewardship Award during their annual convention held recently in Charleston, S.C. , where the Carnival Fantasy is based year-round.  The Maritime Association of SC is a non-profit trade association whose mission is to promote, protect and advance the interests of the state’s ports and associated businesses throughout the state. More than three million strong, Carnival’s Facebook fans are not only the largest on-line community in the cruise industry but they’re also among the most active in social media, truly embodying the line’s spirited brand of fun. And to recognize this enthusiastic group of “Fun Ship” loyalists, Carnival is asking fans to come up with a creative moniker for its Facebook followers as part of the new Name Game. Fans can enter their suggested nicknames via the line’s Facebook fan page through February 13. Carnival will then select four finalists with fans casting their vote February 16-20. The selected name will be announced February 23. Get creative and good luck, Carnival fans!

Carnival Liberty’s Inaugural Call at Bonaire Marked with Traditional Maritime Plaque Exchange

  To commemorate Carnival Liberty’s inaugural call at Bonaire, a traditional maritime plaque exchange was held on board between Captain Leonardo Contarino and local officials. During the Carnival Liberty’s call at Bonaire, which was the first visit ever by a Carnival ship, more than 3,000 guests had the opportunity to experience and explore the tropical island paradise which is located off the coast of South America and surrounded by vibrant coral reefs popular with snorkelers and scuba divers the world over. In addition to the call by Carnival Liberty, Bonaire is a featured port on select longer length voyages of the Carnival Glory, Carnival Dream, Carnival Pride and Carnival Triumph.
