With its famous pink-sand beaches, turquoise waters and picture-perfect weather, Bermuda is one of the most popular destinations in cruising. And Carnival Cruise Line will provide its guests with a variety of opportunities to visit the island paradise in 2016 with 10 departures that feature at least one overnight docked alongside at historic King’s Wharf. From April through November 2016, guests can embark on five different Carnival ships departing from six convenient U.S. homeports offering itineraries ranging from five to eight days — making 2016 one of the cruise line’s most robust Bermuda programs ever. Carnival Cruise Line – New Orleans’ number one cruise operator – continues to expand its presence at the port and expects to carry a record 400,000 passengers from  the Crescent City this year.  Additionally, the cruise line estimates that next year it will welcome its three millionth passenger at the Port of New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005. Carnival pioneered year-round cruising from New Orleans in 1994 and over the past two-plus decades has become the port’s largest cruise operator with two ships offering more than 125 four- to seven-day departures on an annual basis.   August 26 was National Cherry Popsicle Day and, for the third year in a row, Carnival Cruise Line provided a delicious treat of hundreds of cherry popsicles to the kids at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, one of the cruise line’s top charitable partners. The National Cherry Popsicle Day celebration continues Carnival’s ongoing support of St. Jude which includes a goal of raising $8 million by 2017 through a variety of on-board fundraising activities and serving as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital‘s Official Celebration Partner. In the third installment of “Carnival Vista: Behind the Scenes” video series, host Peter Gonzalez and Carnival Vice President of Beverage Operations Eddie Allen highlight the line’s first-ever brewery that will be featured in the ship’s RedFrog Pub.  Carnival Vista is set to debut in Europe May 1, 2016. Carnival Cruise Line – Texas’ largest cruise operator – presented a $20,000 check to the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, representing proceeds from the “Pass the Boot” promotion at this season’s home games at Dr Pepper Park. Miami-based Carnival Corporation & plc was presented with the Sustainable Business Award by the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce during the organization’s quarterly meeting held on board the Carnival Victory at PortMiami. The award recognizes Carnival Corporation & plc and its 10 worldwide brands for their leadership role in developing innovative environmental initiatives.  These include the company’s recent announcement to construct four new ships featuring a revolutionary “green cruising design” powered by cleaner-burning liquefied natural gas, as well as the introduction of exhaust gas cleaning technology – or “scrubbers” – designed to dramatically reduce air emissions. Continuing Carnival Cruise Line’s support of its homeport communities, kids from the Doolin Maritime Career Camp in Galveston visited the Carnival Triumph last week while the ship was docked at the Port of Galveston. An initiative of the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce and funded by donations from community businesses and individuals who sponsored each child’s participation, the camp provides young mariners with valuable insight into the maritime industry through a variety of hands-on activities and experiences. Coordinated in partnership with the Port of Galveston, the tour of the Carnival Triumph provided campers with a first-hand look at the vessel’s operations.  Kids also had the opportunity to ask questions of the Carnival Triumph’s personnel and enjoyed lunch at the ship’s…

Carnival Cruise Line’s new social media Internet packages – which offer access to a variety of popular Web sites for just $5 a day – are now available on more than half of the line’s ships with fleetwide implementation scheduled by the first quarter of 2016. Carnival Cruise Line took top honors in three categories in Travel Channel’s Best Cruises 2015 awards – “Best Mexican Cruise (Carnival Miracle),” “Best Theme Cruises (Carnival LIVE),” and “Unexpected Cruise for Food (Carnival Breeze).”   Carnival was the only cruise line to be recognized with multiple awards this year. The awards are based on feedback from a team of judges from popular cruise magazines and web sites who listed their favorites in a variety of categories.
