Carnival Cruise Line was named Best Cruise Line for Group Travel at the American Group Travel Awards (AGTA) which recognizes leading travel suppliers and organizations throughout North America.  The award was presented at AGTA’s annual conference held earlier this month in New York City. Carnival was recognized not only for its highly trained and professional reservations and sales staff and high quality on-board experience but also superior procedures and processes for making booking a group cruise easy and convenient. Groups represent a significant portion of the 4.5 million guests carried by Carnival Cruise Line each year.

As part of his ongoing “Whatever We’re Going to Call These” video series featuring funny – and sometimes awkward – interviews with Carnival executives, Brand Ambassador John Heald took the opportunity to interview Carnival Corporation Chairman Micky Arison during a recent visit to the company’s Miami headquarters. Heald talked to Arison on topics ranging from his thoughts on the upcoming Carnival Vista to his role as managing general partner of the Miami HEAT.  The interview can be viewed here. Carnival Cruise Line Hosts Four-Day ‘Cyber Weekend’ Sale Over Thanksgiving Holiday

Carnival Cruise Line kicks off a massive Cyber Weekend sale on Friday offering a number of exceptional value-added promotions. A different promotion will be showcased each day over the four-day holiday period, kicking off Friday with a 24-hour sale touting cruises available for as little as $49 per person per day.  Saturday’s promotion includes two- to five-day voyages starting at $65 per person per day with a shipboard credit of $65 per stateroom, while Sunday’s sale highlights cruises of six days and longer available for as low as $75 per person per day with a shipboard credit of $75 per stateroom.  The promotion concludes with a 24-hour Cyber Monday sale offering Early Saver rates, 50 percent reduced deposits, $1 upgrades…

Carnival President Christine Duffy Recognized at United States Coast Guard Reception

  Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy was honored by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) during a reception celebrating the USCG’s Seventh District, which encompasses South Florida where the cruise line’s headquarters are located. Duffy was recognized for her longstanding support of the USCG, both during her time at Carnival and her position as president and CEO of the Cruise Lines International Association, a trade association representing the North American cruise industry. In her remarks, Duffy applauded the role that the USCG plays in maritime safety, its tremendous impact on our community, and excellent relationship with the cruise industry. Carnival Freedom Earns Perfect 100 U.S.P.H. Inspection Score

Carnival Freedom scored 100 during its recent United States Public Health (U.S.P.H.) inspection which took place at Galveston, Texas, earlier this month.  Carnival Freedom is the seventh Carnival ship to earn a perfect score this year. To earn a 100 score, cruise ships must receive perfect marks on all 44 items that comprise the U.S.P.H.’s comprehensive Vessel Sanitation Program checklist. The unannounced inspections, which are conducted twice a year and required for any cruise ship with an international itinerary calling at a U.S. port, evaluate vessels in a wide variety of areas, including adherence to proper food handling, preparation and storage procedures, and overall galley cleanliness.   The Fort Lauderdale Improv was recently transformed into Carnival’s Punchliner Comedy Club – for one night, at least – as part of a special fundraiser that generated more than $12,000 for Kids in Distress of Broward and Palm Beach Counties – a 20 percent increase over the amount raised at last year’s event. The funds will be used to help Kids in Distress, a nationally accredited agency working for the prevention of child abuse, preservation of the family, and the treatment of abused and neglected children. NBC Today Show Host Hoda Kotb Surprises Fan During Carnival Ecstasy Cruise

When Catherine Powe boarded the Carnival Ecstasy for a cruise to celebrate her 65th birthday, she wasn’t prepared for all the surprises that were in store for her! Tipped off by her daughters that Catherine was a huge Today Show fan, Host Hoda Kotb flew down to Miami to surprise her on board. There were other surprises in store, as well, as Catherine’s other two daughters flew in to join their mom and sister for the three-day cruise to the Bahamas. Kotb and Powe enjoyed a variety of the Carnival Ecstasy’s features together and all was captured on video for a segment that aired on the Today Show this morning. The segment can be viewed here.
