Carnival Cruise Line Takes Delivery of New 133,500-Ton Carnival Vista

At a traditional maritime handover ceremony held earlier today at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, Carnival Cruise Line took delivery of its newest, largest and most innovative ship, the 133,500-ton Carnival Vista. The 3,954-passenger ship will reposition to Trieste, Italy, where it will depart on its maiden voyage May 1, kicking off a summer schedule in Europe that runs through October 2016.  Following a 13-day trans-Atlantic crossing, Carnival Vista will operate a pair of 11-day cruises from New York in November 2016 then launch year-round Caribbean service from Miami later that month. Carnival Cruise Line Appoints Kathy Mayor As Chief Marketing Officer

Following an extensive global search, Carnival Cruise Line has hired Kathy Mayor as chief marketing officer. Mayor possesses wide-ranging experience in an array of marketing disciplines including e-commerce, digital and loyalty marketing, customer relationship management, business development and product and brand management. In her new role as CMO, Mayor is responsible for driving Carnival Cruise Line’s marketing strategy across a variety of platforms including digital marketing, e-commerce, advertising, guest loyalty and public relations. She will report directly to Carnival President Christine Duffy. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to have someone with Kathy’s experience, talent and knowledge joining the Carnival family,” said Duffy. “Her multi-dimensional marketing background focused on consumer brands and experiences make her an ideal candidate for this role.”…

Carnival Cruise Line and the Canaveral Port Authority hosted a special event earlier today to celebrate the arrival of the Space Coast’s newest ship, the 130,000-ton Carnival Magic, and mark the official grand opening of the ship’s new Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse designed by Food Network star Guy Fieri. The invitation-only event was highlighted by the carving of a massive, six-foot-long pulled pork sandwich by officials from Carnival and the port to commemorate the debut of Fieri’s new BBQ venue which was installed during a multi-million-dollar dry dock last month. Carnival Cruise Line is the first recipient of Port of Seattle’s inaugural Program Innovator Award and also received the port’s Green Gateway Partners Award, honoring the cruise line’s commitment to environmental stewardship. Carnival Vista Completes Final Sea Trials In Adriatic Sea

  Carnival Cruise Line’s newest ship, the 133,500-ton Carnival Vista, successfully completed its final sea trials in the Adriatic Sea earlier this week in anticipation of its inaugural cruise from Trieste, Italy, May 1, 2016. Currently in the final stages of construction at Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard, the 3,954-passenger vessel had a full contingent of officers, technicians and engineers on board who thoroughly tested Carnival Vista’s sophisticated navigation, technical and mechanical systems.   Carnival Foundation, in partnership with the Miami HEAT NBA basketball team and the Florida Prepaid College Foundation, presented 15 South Florida students with four-year college scholarships during halftime at a Miami HEAT game earlier this week. The students currently participate in the innovative “Carnival Scholarship & Mentoring Program” sponsored by Carnival and the Miami HEAT in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami that pairs a student with an employee mentor from Carnival’s management team.
