  To commemorate Carnival Sunshine’s inaugural call at Saint John, New Brunswick, a reception was held aboard the ship during which the ship’s officers and local officials participated in a traditional maritime plaque exchange.   Carnival Sunshine visited Saint John as part of its new program of four- to nine-day voyages from New York to destinations throughout eastern Canada, the Caribbean, The Bahamas and Bermuda.   Carnival Sunshine will sail from New York through October then reposition to Port Canaveral, Fla., for a winter schedule of four- to eight-day Caribbean departures.

  Carnival Miracle is prominently featured in the premiere segment of a new educational television series called “How to Build…Everything” airing on the Science Channel. The show provides viewers with an irreverent and off-beat look at what it takes to construct a modern-day cruise ship, focusing on topics like the advantages of modular construction where pre-fabricated segments are built off-site and assembled in dry dock and innovative technical systems, including the Azipod propulsion system.  The concepts of buoyancy and water displacement are also discussed by science and engineering experts in a fun, easy-to-understand way.   Today, Carnival Cruise Line, along with community dignitaries and local families, celebrated the opening of Splash Island at Atlanta’s historic Adams Park. The interactive red, white and blue-colored splash pad, funded in part by Carnival and inspired by Carnival WaterWorks, the cruise line’s onboard water experience, is the latest addition to the park’s pool area.   Carnival Cruise Line’s partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® extended to the links with the line’s sponsorship of the FedEx St. Jude Classic, an annual PGA-sanctioned golf tournament held in at the TPC Southwind course in Memphis, Tenn., the hospital’s hometown. As a sponsor of the tournament, Carnival hosted a number of fun activities, including the popular Little Loopers event that provided St. Jude kids an opportunity to interact with PGA TOUR professionals and celebrities.  Held at the par 3 11th hole, the kids had a chance to learn how to putt, chip and drive from the world’s best golfers amidst a backdrop that resembled a miniature golf course aboard a Carnival ship. Carnival Valor Inaugurates Port Canaveral’s Newly Renovated Terminal 5

Carnival Valor inaugurated Port Canaveral’s recently renovated Terminal 5, departing on an eight-day Caribbean cruise this past weekend. The $48 million project included an expanded terminal that can accommodate ships of up to 3,500 passengers, a longer 120-foot-long pier, a new 1,044-space parking garage, and new mobile passenger boarding bridges. Carnival is the largest cruise operator from Port Canaveral with Carnival Valor, Carnival Magic and Carnival Victory offering year-round departures and Carnival Sunshine sailing seasonally.  Together these four ships carry more than 650,000 passengers annually from the Space Coast – the most of any cruise operator.

  Carnival Cruise Line, Texas’ number one cruise operator, and the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, hosted a special day of fun, food and baseball this weekend at Dr Pepper Ballpark for hundreds of children and their families across the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.  The third annual “Carnival Kids Day” was part of the cruise line’s multi-year partnership with the RoughRiders. Children and families from a variety of charitable and social service organizations enjoyed an unforgettable day of fun, participating in a number of activities and interactions with RoughRider players.   In addition, every participant received complimentary game day tickets and parking.     The latest in a new series of videos from Carnival features a meet-and-greet opportunity between seven-time GRAMMY-award winning country music superstar Carrie Underwood and Mo Jones, who served in the U.S. Navy, and his wife Theresa who have benefited from the various programs organized through Operation Homefront.  The video can be viewed here.
