With The Cat in the Hat running for president, who better to serve as campaign manager for the world’s most popular feline than The Ellen DeGeneres Show’s self-proclaimed presidential expert, Macey Hensley!

Carnival Cruise Line – The Cat in the Hat’s Official Seagoing Campaign Headquarters – and Dr. Seuss Enterprises teamed up to surprise the effervescent six-year-old with a visit from the beloved Dr. Seuss character to her home in Council Grove, Kansas.  The dynamic duo then headed off to the Carnival Breeze in Galveston, Texas, to discuss campaign strategy with The Cat in the Hat and his running mates, Thing 1 and Thing 2.

While on board the massive 130,000-ton ship, Macey helped The Cat in the Hat select his best presidential attire, choosing from a number of creative outfits and even did her part to hone his presentation skills focusing on his campaign slogan of “it’s fun to have fun but you have to know how” and citing her vast knowledge of U.S. presidential trivia along the way.

From there, Macey and team took a well-deserved break, splashing around in the pool and then enjoying the Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast, a popular element of Carnival’s exclusive fleetwide Seuss at Sea program.

Then it was back to work as Macey led kids and their parents in a number of #CatinHat4Prez activities on board, including designing campaign posters for the Seuss-a-palooza Presidential Parade led by none other than The Cat in the Hat himself!

The day concluded, appropriately enough, with a voting exercise with The Cat in the Hat, of course, winning the nomination as the Kids Candidate.

Alas, it was time to say goodbye but we’re sure Macey had a wonderful time on board the Carnival Breeze.
