Carnival Victory Earns Second Consecutive 100 U.S.P.H. Inspection Score

Carnival Victory scored 100 during its recent United States Public Health (U.S.P.H.) inspection which took place in Port Canaveral, Fla. This marks the second consecutive time the ship has achieved a perfect U.S.P.H inspection score. To earn a 100 score, cruise ships must receive perfect marks on all 44 items that comprise the U.S.P.H.’s comprehensive Vessel Sanitation Program checklist. The unannounced inspections, which are conducted twice a year and required for any cruise ship with an international itinerary calling at a U.S. port, evaluate vessels in a wide variety of areas, including adherence to proper food handling, preparation and storage procedures, and overall galley cleanliness. Carnival Cruise Line has signed an agreement with landlord Urban Commons and the City of Long Beach, Calif., to expand the Long Beach Cruise Terminal facility to accommodate larger ships in the future and enhance its terminal operations. The deal will nearly triple the size of Carnival’s current terminal facility from approximately 66,000 square feet to 142,000 square feet. Carnival has operated the Long Beach Cruise Terminal since 2003 using a partial area of the Geodesic Dome that was the former museum housing Howard Hughes’ “Spruce Goose” attraction.  The agreement gives Carnival 100 percent use of the Dome, allowing for larger ships and providing additional space needed to accommodate two-way operations, enabling embarking guests to access the terminal prior to…

  Carnival Vista has been named Best New Ship in Cruise Critic’s Editors’ Picks Awards, with the line earning Best-Value-For-Money for the third consecutive year. Selected by Cruise Critic’s editorial team, the awards recognize cruise lines in a wide range of product- and service-related categories. Carnival Vista Showcased Through Groundbreaking 360-Degree Videos

For the launch of the new Carnival Vista, Carnival Cruise Line partnered with Arnold Worldwide to help bring the ship’s unique features to life through a groundbreaking 360-degree video campaign featuring YouTube and Instagram-star Zach King. The personable King takes viewers on a fun tour of the ship’s many innovative features – everything from the aerial attraction SkyRide and the longest slide in the fleet, the 455-foot-long Kaleid-o-slide – engaging the audience through use of special effects, optical illusions, Easter egg hunts and magical sleight of hand tricks. Miss USA Deshauna Barber to Serve as Godmother of New Carnival Vista

  Miss USA Deshauna Barber has been named godmother of Carnival Cruise Line’s newest and largest ship, Carnival Vista.  Barber made history earlier this year when she became the first woman serving in the U.S. military to win the title of Miss USA. Barber will officially name the massive 133,500-ton vessel during a shipboard ceremony in New York Nov. 4 that is part of an overnight gala event honoring Operation Homefront and featuring an exclusive invitation-only concert by seven-time GRAMMY-award winning country music super star Carrie Underwood.  In addition to the concert, the festivities will include overnight accommodations, meals, activities and entertainment for hundreds of military families.
