Seafood Shack Casual Eateries Added to Seven Carnival Cruise Line Ships

  Following the incredible success of the New England-inspired Seafood Shack eatery that debuted aboard Carnival Vista, the concept has been expanded to seven additional ships throughout the fleet. Located within the ships’ poolside Lido restaurants, the a la carte dining venue offers a variety of fresh-from-the-sea delicacies, including lobster rolls, lobster BLTs, crab cake sliders, fish and chips, and a fried seafood platter with shrimp, clams, calamari, and fish.   There are also buckets of fried buffalo shrimp and fried clams or a combination featuring both items.   Diners can also enjoy steamed lobster, snow crab, and peel and eat shrimp, and oysters, all available at market price.     For the fifth consecutive year, Carnival Cruise Line participated in the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, raising nearly $250,000 for the hospital during the holidays – more than doubling the cruise line’s initial goal.   The Charleston, S.C.-based Carnival Ecstasy has undergone a multi-million-dollar renovation that has added a variety of new dining and beverage innovations. The features were incorporated during a two-week dry dock that took place from Jan. 10-24, 2017, in Freeport, The Bahamas. Following the renovation, the ship returned to Charleston yesterday to resume its year-round schedule of four- to 10-day departures from that port.   Britton Walker – the Official Kid Magician of The Ellen DeGeneres Show – had a chance to showcase his talents during a recent six-day cruise aboard Carnival Cruise Line’s newest, largest and most innovative ship, Carnival Vista. Working in tandem with Zee, Carnival Vista’s onboard magician, the nine-year-old from Calgary, Canada, amazed guests and crew alike with “how’d he do that?” card and coin tricks and the always impressive hidden ball illusion. The groundbreaking SkyRide aerial attraction – a suspended cycling experience featured exclusively aboard Carnival Cruise Line’s new Carnival Vista – has been named “Best Onboard Thrill” in Porthole Cruise Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Awards. Selected by Porthole Editor-in-Chief Bill Panoff, the awards recognize cruise lines in a wide range of product- and service related categories.     Carnival Cruise Line will reposition three of its newest and largest ships to new homeports in 2018, expanding upon the exciting variety of cruise options available from Galveston, Texas, Port Canaveral, Fla.,  and Miami. In September 2018 Carnival Vista will move to Galveston; Carnival Breeze will reposition to Port Canaveral; and Carnival Magic will shift to Miami.   The private Bahamian destination of Princess Cays has been added to the itineraries of six different Carnival Cruise Line ships beginning in May 2017.  Carnival Cruise Line ships are expected to make 40 calls to Princess Cays in 2017 and 98 the following year.
