  Carnival Cruise Line hosted a bon voyage reception at Port Tampa Bay today to mark the line’s inaugural cruise to Havana, Cuba, aboard the Carnival Paradise. The event was a celebration of Cuban culture, music, cuisine and libations, featuring the “World’s Largest Cuban Sandwich at Sea” and a $25,000 charity donation to Tampa’s Ybor City Museum Society. Attendees included Carnival Cruise Line Executive Vice President of Guest Shipboard Operations Gus Antorcha, representatives of Port Tampa Bay, Ybor City Museum Society and invited guests.   Carnival Cruise Line and the Houston Texans teamed up to host the first-ever Summer Kickoff event yesterday with a variety of fun activities for kids at the Havard Boys & Girls Club in Houston. The event also included a $10,000 donation from Carnival Cruise Line to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston. Additionally, for every Houston Texans Bear sold at  Build-A-Bear Workshop stores in the Houston area during the month of July, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Boys & Girls Clubs. Carnival Recognized with 2017 WAVE Award from TravelAge West

  Carnival Cruise Line was honored with a 2017 WAVE Award in the category of Best Refurbished Ship for Carnival Imagination as part of the TravelAge West WAVE (Western Agents’ Votes of Excellence) Awards held on June 15, 2017. Last year, Carnival Imagination underwent an extensive, multi-million dollar renovation which added a variety of exciting new food and beverage concepts. The new spaces were added during a three-week dry dock which took place September 2016.   Halloween is always a fun time aboard Carnival Cruise Line and this year the festivities will be taken to another level with a month-long spook-tacular with “extra scares” aboard the Carnival Imagination’s three- and four-day cruises from Long Beach, Calif.     In conjunction with the first day of summer – the longest and most sun-splashed day of the year  — Bill, the a mystical prognosticating sloth from Carnival Cruise Line — announced that there will be an extra 17 days of summer during a special Facebook Live broadcast earlier today. In honor of Bill and his talent for prognostication, Carnival has made a $10,000 donation to the Discover the Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica, a featured excursion for several of the line’s ships. Today is National Martini Day (and #MartiniMonday) and to celebrate Carnival Cruise Line has created a special limited edition cocktail called the Mermaid Martini. The colorful one-of-a-kind martini will be offered at select bars across the fleet, including the unique cocktail pharmacy-themed Alchemy Bars on select ships. The cost is $9.25 The vibrant multicolored libation was created by Carnival’s award-winning mixologist Miroslav Kljajic, the winner of the 2016 Bacardí Legacy Cruise Bartender of the Year competition. Carnival Cruise Line earned the prestigious Public Relations Society of America New York (PRSA-NY) Chapter’s Big Apple Award in the marketing consumer services: travel and tourism category for Honor.Family.Fun, a comprehensive year-long public relations campaign in 2016. The campaign brought together Operation Homefront, the national nonprofit that builds strong, stable and secure military families, and seven-time Grammy Award-winning country music superstar Carrie Underwood to introduce the line’s newest ship, Carnival Vista, as part of its U.S. debut in New York last November.  The award was presented earlier this week at the PRSA-NY’s chapter conference in New York. Senior Officers Selected For New Carnival Horizon

  Carnival Cruise Line has announced the appointment of the senior officers for its newest ship, the 133,500-ton Carnival Horizon, which is currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy and set to debut in spring 2018. Comprised of some of the most talented and experienced mariners in the cruise industry, Carnival Horizon’s senior officers will include: Captain Luigi De Angelis – A 22-year veteran of Carnival Cruise Line, De Angelis joined the company as a deck cadet aboard the Carnival Imagination in 1995 and was named captain in 2010. During his Carnival career, De Angelis has been part of the start-up teams of five ships and most recently served as master of the line’s newest ship, Carnival Vista,…
