Carnival Cruise Line earned “Best Domestic Cruise Line” and “Best Travel Agency Training Program” honors at the 15th annual Travel Weekly Readers Choice Awards which were presented last night in New York. This is the second year in the row the line earned the ‘Best Domestic Cruise Line’ award.
The awards recognize travel industry suppliers who led the way in product and service during the past year. Travel Weekly readers were invited to write in the names of any company they believed best exemplified that particular category, with Carnival receiving more votes in the “Best Domestic Cruise Line” and “Best Travel Agency Training Program” categories than any other cruise operator.
Carnival Cruise Line enjoyed a successful and memorable 2017 highlighted by the line’s first-ever voyages to Cuba aboard Carnival Paradise as well as the continued rollout of new culinary offerings such as the New England-inspired Seafood Shacks and Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse developed in tandem with Food Network star Guy Fieri. Carnival also continues to invest in its product with several ships undergoing dry docks that added a variety of food, beverage and entertainment concepts.
Carnival Passport is the line’s comprehensive training portal that houses all of Carnival’s educational activities in one easy-to-access area within GoCCL.com, the line’s travel agent web site. With Carnival Passport, agents may select learning activities that best suit their particular educational needs while earning credits along the way. Travel professionals can earn credits within Carnival Passport by participating in tutorials, webinars, trade shows, seminars at sea and more and can redeem points for a variety of prizes, including a free cruise. Travel agents who complete all of the training levels in Carnival Passport and reach a designated booking requirement are eligible for a complimentary Carnival cruise.
