  Carnival Cruise Line will offer 17 new sailings to Cuba aboard Carnival Sensation in 2019.  The five-day Cuba voyages will be the line’s first to operate round-trip from Miami and feature a day-long call in Havana as well as stops at popular Caribbean and Bahamian ports,  including Grand Turk, Grand Cayman, Nassau, and the private destinations of Half Moon Cay and Princess Cays.   Carnival Paradise is undergoing an extensive, multi-million-dollar refurbishment that will add a wide variety of spaces and innovations, including a spectacular water park, 38 new cabins, 98 balconies to existing staterooms, and an a host of exciting food and beverage concepts. Carnival Cruise Line today announced several significant initiatives designed to further bolster its leadership position on the West Coast: the deployment of Carnival Panorama to Long Beach in 2019 – the first new Carnival ship based in Southern California in 20 years; the grand re-opening of its 146,000-square-foot state-of-the-art Long Beach Cruise Terminal, and a multi-million-dollar port development project in Ensenada, Mexico, that will provide guests with one-of-a-kind experiences ashore. Carnival Cruise Line has announced that the 3,006-passenger Carnival Splendor will reposition to Sydney in 2019, becoming the newest and largest ship based year-round in Australia. More than 800,000 Australians have cruised with Carnival since the company launched its Australia program five years ago with year-round sailings of Carnival Spirit.  Carnival Legend also operates seasonal departures from Sydney.  The arrival of Carnival Splendor to Sydney represents a 66% capacity increase for Carnival Cruise Line in Australia.   Carnival Cruise Line has announced the promotions of Ken Tate and Jim Heaney to executive vice president positions, effective immediately. Both report to Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy. “Ken and Jim have proven themselves by taking on additional responsibilities over time,” said Duffy. “I am confident that they will continue to have positive impacts on the growth and success of Carnival.” Ken Tate was promoted to executive vice president and chief commercial officer. In that role, he is responsible for revenue management and ship deployment, as well as trade and direct sales channels, including the customer contact center.
