Regina Walker, who currently serves as co-chair of Carnival Cruise Line’s employee-driven volunteer service group, the Friends Uniting Neighbors (F.U.N.) Team, has been named the company’s Volunteer of the Year.
A 34-year veteran of Carnival Cruise Line, Walker was honored for her exemplary efforts at helping our community, donating nearly 120 hours to a variety of local social service agencies and charitable organizations, including Ronald McDonald House, Miami Children’s Museum, Miami Dolphins Cancer Challenge, Humane Society Walk for Animals, Mourning Family Foundation, Kids in Distress and Children’s Harbor. She participated in a number of beach clean-up activities, as well.
The award was presented at the company’s 23rd annual Volunteer Reception which pays tribute to those employees who volunteer their time and talent in helping those less fortunate in our community. Over the past year, more than 425 Carnival employees participated in 48 service activities representing a total of nearly 2,000 volunteer hours.
Carnival President Christine Duffy presented Walker with her award, along with a $1,000 donation from the Carnival Foundation to the charity of her choice.
