Carnival Corporation CEO Arnold Donald Takes to the Skies in Carnival AirShip

Carnival Corporation CEO Arnold Donald and Karl Sestak from his office had the thrill of a lifetime when they boarded the Carnival AirShip, a 128-foot-long blimp emblazoned with Carnival Cruise Line’s #Choose Fun tagline. Carnival Cruise Line Signs Preferred Supplier Agreement with West Coast–Based WESTA Consortium

  Carnival Cruise Line has signed a preferred supplier agreement with WESTA, the Western Association of Travel Agents consortium. The new partnership will become effective Jan. 1, 2019, and will offer a focused program with Carnival business development managers engaging with WESTA members to define shared strategies and marketing plans, and initiate Carnival brand and product training. Following a fun-filled homecoming celebration aboard the new Carnival Horizon featuring Carnival’s Chief Fun Officer Shaquille O’Neal and Miami HEAT legends, 400 travel agents and their guests departed Thursday, Sept. 20, on the ship’s inaugural cruise from PortMiami. During the two-day cruise to Nassau, Bahamas, travel agents were hosted by Carnival business development directors and sales leadership team members. Events included a gala cocktail party, hosted dinners in the Meridian Dining Room and specialty restaurants, exclusive ship tours and exploration of Nassau. Carnival Horizon returned to Miami Saturday, Sept. 22, to begin its new year-round schedule of alternating six- and eight-day Caribbean cruises.

Emoji Contest” begins Monday, Sept. 24, and continues through Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, giving Carnival’s travel partners the chance to win the grand prize of an up-to seven-day Caribbean cruise for two in a balcony stateroom as well as daily gift card giveaways. Carnival Vista Arrives In New Homeport Of Galveston

Carnival Cruise Line solidified its place as the cruise leader in Texas with Sunday’s arrival of Carnival Vista – the largest ship ever homeported in Galveston. The arrival was celebrated with Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy and ship Godmother Deshauna Barber, the first member of the U.S. military to be named Miss USA, before the ship left on its first voyage from Galveston Sunday afternoon. Carnival Horizon’s arrival to PortMiami, its new year-round homeport, was marked today with a larger-than-life celebration highlighted by a fun basketball-themed event featuring the company’s CFO, Chief Fun Officer, – NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal – along with Miami HEAT legends Alonzo Mourning, Shane Battier and Glen Rice. Carnival Elation Captain and Crew Recognized with AFRAS Humanitarian Assistance Award

Captain Gaetano Gigliotti and the crew of the cruise ship Carnival Elation have been recognized with the Cruise Line Humanitarian Assistance Award from the Association for Rescue at Sea (AFRAS), an organization whose mission is to provide worldwide support and assistance to volunteer maritime rescue services and recognize and honor extraordinary maritime rescues. Presented during AFRAS’ annual reception in Washington, DC, the award honors Captain Gigliotti and his team for their incredible bravery in the rescue of a stranded fishing boat in the Gulf of Mexico during Hurricane Irma last year.   In addition to the AFRAS Award, Captain Gigliotti was presented with a framed copy of the entry into the Congressional Record by Florida Congresswoman Federica Wilson commending the life-saving…

Carnival Cruise Line’s Sales and Trade Marketing team received two gold and two silver 2018 Magellan Awards in Travel Weekly’s annual competition. All four awards were bestowed in the Cruise Marketing–Web Marketing/Advertising Category. Carnival’s Facebook page for travel agents received a gold award for its effectiveness as a trade communications platform. The page is run by Adolfo Perez, senior vice president of sales and trade relations, and currently has more than 37,000 followers and over 36,000 likes. The other gold Magellan was earned for the innovative “What’s Your Carnival IQ?” Facebook contest that tested travel agents’ knowledge about the Carnival brand and onboard product.
