Carnival Cruise Line’s Mardi Gras has earned another distinction as the “Best New Cruise Ship of 2021” – this time from Cruiseline.com’s 2022 Member Choice Awards.
Cruiseline.com announced its honors this week, which it says were chosen using data rankings from community-generated reviews of over 4,000 of the website’s members.
Mardi Gras received the highest score in the “Best New Cruise Ship” category from the ratings given over a period beginning with the industry’s restart in June until the end of 2021.
Previously, Carnival’s flagship also received the title of “Best New Cruise Ship” for 2021 in USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards. It was also awarded the same title by Cruise Hive’s annual Cruise Ship Awards.
Mardi Gras first set sail in July of 2021 and introduced the world to BOLT, the first roller coaster at sea, which received an engineering award of its own from Popular Science Magazine. Mardi Gras is also the first cruise ship in America powered by a liquefied natural gas (LNG) technology platform. Carnival Corp. proudly introduced LNG fuel to the passenger cruise sector as part of an ongoing commitment to sustainability and emissions reduction.
Currently sailing from Port Canaveral, Mardi Gras offers seven-day cruise vacations to popular Caribbean destinations and features multiple accommodation and suite options, a stunning, three-deck atrium on the starboard side of the ship that overlooks the ocean and converts to an entertainment venue at night and dining venues like Emeril’s Bistro 1396, Shaq’s Big Chicken and many more.
Mardi Gras is the first of three Excel-class ships to join the Carnival fleet. Sister ship Carnival Celebration will begin sailing this fall from PortMiami and Carnival Jubilee will begin service from the Port of Galveston in Texas next year.
